Patent #5,776,567     Multi-layer filter for separating solid and liquid waste

A flexible, multi-layer filter for separating solid and liquid wastes. In a preferred embodiment, the filter includes first, second, third, and fourth layers, interconnected by appropriately spaced connectors. The first layer comprises sub-layers of parallel strands, wherein the strands in one sub-layer cross and overlap the strands in the other sub-layer to form a netting. The second layer comprises a fibrous mat, and the third layer comprises a netting like that of the first layer. The fourth layer includes a porous filter cloth. The third layer may be cut to form end and side tabs for retaining the filter inside a conventional waste container. After a semi-solid mixture of waste is poured, dumped, or otherwise placed into the waste container, liquid waste passes through the filter layers under the force of gravity. The liquid waste is channeled through the first layer along the bottom of the waste container. The liquid waste may be discharged from the container by opening a drain, or by slightly-opening a gate in the waste container. The invention is especially effective for extracting liquid waste from semi-solid materials, such as catalysts produced in petroleum refining, industrial process sludges, slurries, sewage matter, and materials collected in storm drains such as grit, rocks, leaves, silt, and dirt.

Patent #5,110,005     Waste container liner

A method for manufacturing a liner for a waste container is provided, comprising the steps of extruding a flexible envelope, the envelope having ends; flattening the envelope so as to form a top side and a bottom side; cutting a lengthwise slit in the top side of the envelope substantially along the centerline of the envelope; sealing the ends of the envelope; folding the envelope along the centerline; and rolling one end toward the other to form a rolled bundle. A waste container liner may be formed by this process, comprising a flexible envelope including a top side; a bottom side; first and second ends; gusseted side panels connecting the top side and the bottom side; a lengthwise slit in the top side between the first and second ends substantially along the centerline of the envelope; and wherein the top and bottom sides are sealed together at the first and second ends.

Patent #6,086,758     Storm drain liner

A drain filtering system is disclosed, comprising a filter placed within a basket which is suspended from frame positioned underneath a drain grate atop the inlet to a storm drain. The filter is constructed from materials which filter out heavy metals and hydrocarbons from the water passing through. The filter also has overflow outlets to prevent back-up of storm water during periods of heavy rain. The basket is constructed from a corrosion resistant material, preferably high density polyethylene which can withstand the extreme pressures exerted by waste and water collected within the filter.

Patent #6,306,293     Storm drain liner

A drain filtering system is disclosed, comprising a filter placed within a basket which is suspended from frame positioned underneath a drain grate atop the inlet to a storm drain. The filter is constructed from materials which filter out heavy metals and hydrocarbons from the water passing through. The filter also has overflow outlets to prevent back-up of storm water during periods or heavy rain. The basket is constructed from a corrosion resistant material, preferably high density polyethylene which can withstand the extreme pressures exerted by waste and water collected within the filter.

Patent #6,562,233     Storm drain liner with riser 2

A drain filtering system is disclosed, having a filter placed within a basket which is suspended from frame positioned underneath a drain grate atop the inlet to a storm drain. The filter is constructed from materials that filter out heavy metals, sediments, debris and hydrocarbons from the water passing through. The system includes a riser tube having an inlet and an outlet, where the inlet is positioned inside the filer, and the outlet is positioned external to the filter. The inlet is placed close to the top of the filter to allow a bypass fluid path for periods of high flow.

Patent #8,894,281     Lifting bag

A lifting bag having at least one side wall and a closed bottom forming an interior, the bag further having a closable top portion connected to the sidewall and adapted to close the interior of the bag. The opening is a single slit centered on the bag top and closable with a zipper. The lifting bag includes a sling coupled to the bag, generally through a edge strip positioned at or near the top edge of the bag. The bag can be constructed from a single multilayered sheet. The bag is used in conjunction with a lifting strap system.
